Pura Stainless was conceived with a simple vision to provide the safest and most adaptable juvenile feeding and adult hydration solutions to consumers around the world.

But it’s so easy to say “we offer ‘safe’ bottles” and that’s why it’s become all too common today. With imperfect legislation, little to no regulation of chemicals in the trade, and undisclosed ingredients to consumers, it’s nearly impossible for the average person to determine whether a product is likely to harm their health.

Pura is happy that this conundrum of safe bottles (and other products) is finally being assessed in a quantitative manner by an independent third party (MadeSafe.org). We are elated to report that Pura products have been certified by Made Safe® the only such bottles on the global market to achieve this status.

MADESAFE CERTIFICATION PROCESS

The MadeSafe certification process begins with a screening process called MADE SAFE that examines product ingredients and materials for known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, neurotoxins, behavioral toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, toxic solvents, harmful substances and GMOs.

This process also aims to fill data gaps by testing each material and ingredient for persistence, bioaccumulation, and general and aquatic toxicity. Each ingredient has been carefully studied by scientists. After the products are tested for questionable elements, they are laboratory tested to ensure that the product does not cause harm to human health. This step actually considers how the material and its components interact with liquids or food.

It is this approach to product study that solves a chemical puzzle that has plagued consumers for decades. There are currently over 80,000 chemicals in use around the world, most of which have not been tested. A growing body of research is linking chemicals in everyday common products to a wide range of serious health problems, from cancer, reproductive harm, endocrine disorders, to learning difficulties, developmental problems and infertility.
